That you would spend money on things that need to be done such as making it clearer which lane cars need to be in when at roundabout at McDonald’s. It’s not obvious to drivers where they need to be when turning. Some drivers have no idea that they can only go left when on the left hand side. Please repaint the road

If we need speed numbs everywhere. I don’t believe so

That speed hump on tamihana street between centennial drive entrances had reflectors on it!! difficult to see in the dark and if you dont know it is there it is a very rough jolt (at the designated speed limit). Also rode my bike along there, the dip comming from centennial drive then back on to the speed hump is a hazard in itself. As a resident of the area the process of having this route set up was a PAIN. poor traffic management, cones EVERYWHERE in the middle of the road (Rata) with NO ONE directing traffic. terrible!

The red crossing on hohaia street to the field and park. It makes it safer to cross the road when parking.
I wish...
That the crossing on Tamihana street was just a pedestrian crossing rather than a speed bump. The speed bump jars my neck when I drive over it even when I slow right down.
I wonder...
If we could put in a crossing across Burwood road and the train tracks across Firth St? A lot of students walk/bike to school across here and it would be wonderful to keep them safe!

I like that you’re encouraging cycling etc but I don’t think there needs to becalm this additional cost involved in terms of road painting, odd yellow curbing (Burwood road) and big yellow uprights.

I wish you’d remove the speed bumps on Tamihaba St as they only slow people down for a few meters. It’s 50km so just enforce the soeef. I don’t understand why you’re wanting people to slow down at that particular spot? People crossing from centennial drive are surely capable of crossing the road? I’ve washed it often and never been run over. I say get rid of them.
I wonder...
Why did you make Rata Street 30km? It’s ridiculously slow! I now avoid that road (and I used it a lot) and use other roads. Perhaps that was your intention? And I’d have to say the number of people it took to install the part where Rata St meets Burwood road was amazing (in terms of a lot!!) - so many were standing doing nothing which seems like a big waste of money!

That you are encouraging a safe environment for exercise and outdoor activity.
That you are creating safer options for our disabled and elderly whānau.
I wish...
That drivers would respect the new safer speeds so I could confidently take my whānau for a bike ride. The excessive speeds down Rata Street make it unsafe for use.
I wonder...
How you will monitor the safe speed zones? The new 30km limit down Rata Street has not reduced the high speeds of those driving down the road.

I wonder why you picked Rata Street and why we need this at all. Walking and biking are already available to anyone thru the whole town, what difference is a designated route going to make, especially when it impacts residents of a street. Someone on the other side of town has to make their way to join the bike route and cross SH 27 so why do something specific like this for only a section of the community. Are you going to have more around town so a bike route is easily accessible to all rate payers or is it a cost on all for just the "good" of a few?

I wish the bike route was a safe links between all our lovely parks where it is more safe and user friendly for children. Biking on widened footpaths then on roads is confusing and unsafe for children learning road rules.

I wonder why Burwood road doesn’t have a widened footpath & safe crossing with its increased population of aged residents and its lovely wide verges are ideal????

a concern is that the road crossings are only courtesy crossings. Doesn't this just cause confusion about who gives way? If a child is hit by a car, whose fault is it? If it's not the driver's, then how clear is it and does the signage make this clear? (not clear at all at the moment)

It's a great idea to give more pedestrian protection where the likes of Centennial Drive and Tom Muir Drive cross roadways - obviously people walking dogs, families cyclists etc are crossing there anyway, Good Stuff

There was some monitoring or enforcement occasionally on our residential streets for speed AND noisy vehicles
As a shiftworker, I've spent time and money to double glaze/insulate our home to improve the chances of sleep during the day, but cars and utes which should never get (Prolly dont have) a WOF scream around unhindered
I know its not a Council function but maybe something that can be raised in a Police Liaison Meeting? (I'm hoping there is such a thing)

I like the courtesy crossings. Having some of those roads as officially Shared Paths is also good.

I wish the trail along Burwood Rd was wider. The berm is large enough that a separate bike path could be added through there.
Also some of the road crossings involve quite a steep dive down into the gutter before coming out the other side. If ramps could be installed that would benefit cyclists as well as older folks on mobility scooters.

If the crossings off Broadway can be pushed back a few metres. To make it safer for cars coming around the corner it is tricky to see the crossing.

First off the existing pedestrian crossing at the middle of town needs moving south. Trucks are much longer now and a truck and trailer unit does block the roundabout.

Courtesy crossings need bigger signs stating pedestrians are to give way to traffic. Too many pedestrians treat them as pedestrian crossings and just step out in front of cars.
