Waihou Transfer Station will be closed from Monday 25 November - Monday 16 December 2024. This will allow our contractors to carry out maintenance upgrades to the road within the site. During this time Morrinsville Transfer Station will be open 7 days a week from 10am - 4pm. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.
Last chance to use MPDC rubbish bags
Do you still have any official MPDC black, green or pink rubbish bags?
Since transitioning to the new kerbside bins we have been accepting these free of charge at our MPDC transfer stations. We wanted to allow time for people to use up any bags that they had bought, and adjust to the new kerbside system.
Now the kerbside rubbish collection has been running for a year, we feel confident that everyone is up to speed. So from Sunday, 1 September the old pre-paid bags will no longer be accepted at transfer stations without incurring the $5.50 rubbish bag disposal charge.
If you still have a few bags left that you want to use up, then remember to use them all before the end of August 2024. You can see all the transfer station opening hours and more here.
