Public Amenities and Public Safety Bylaws review

facebook brad 2

We want to hear about times you've noticed someone being a bad/rad neighbour or community member.

We are reviewing the Public Amenities Bylaw and the Public Safety Bylaw. Both of these Bylaws aim to make our public spaces safe and enjoyable for everybody. We are currently in the pre-engagement phase and want to hear from you about any changes that should be considered in the review.

Bylaws are like ground rules for how we live and work together in a community. Imagine them as the “house rules” for your district, neighbourhood and community. Bylaws help to keep things running smoothly and make sure everyone’s playing fair so we can all get along and enjoy where we live. Together we can create a “how to guide” to being a good neighbour and citizen.

We review bylaws every few years to make sure they still meet our community’s needs. This is your chance to tell us what you think.

You can share your thoughts through our website, by email, or at Council offices. Head to one of our community pop-in sessions or fill out our online survey. Just go to mpdc.nz/publicbylaws to learn more and have your say!
