A comedy-drama by Richard harling set in 1980's Chinquapin, Louisianna, USA. Ian Harrop directs a group of ladies with diverse personalities, whose ups and sowns of every day life are shared with their friends at Truvy Jones' beauty salon. Not one of them is afraid to give an opinion on any subject you'd like to think of affecting society today - their friends lives in particular - all while enjoying the pampering of a new hair style or manicure. The banter is delightful and the shared laughter heart warming but all is not sweetness and light however, as difficult situations do arise but these ladies who are strong as steel and as soft as magnolia blossom take it in their stride and together keep on keeping on. A beautiful play that will bring laughter and maybe a few tears and offers a positive view on life and the importance of true friendship.
