There must be some incentive for reducing our waste. If a household composts their food waste and doesn't buy as many nion recyclable plastics that will go into waste, and therefore produce less waste weekly, its not fair that their rubbish removal cost shall be the same as for those who make more waste. As some have suggested (e.g. Elizabeth Keane), you could be able to opt for fortnightly waste removal, at a lower yearly cost in rates, then those who need weekly removal. At the moment with the bags, my household only needs fortnightly removal. The council should be encouraging and rewarding those who reduce their waste.
