Parts of the Tui Domain Track will be CLOSED from Monday, 3 March 2025, for track repairs. Including the section between Rewi St and Hamilton St, and part of the mountain bike track. We’ll update you once the track reopens.

 

Wetlands Walk

Howarth Memorial Wetlands

The Wetlands Walk loops through through the Howarth Memorial Wetlands (a wildlife refuge). This walk is mostly flat, and accessible from several points. It is a pleasant walk for all ages and fitness levels.

There are two dog exercises areas that can be accessed through the walk. You can find more information in the dog bylaws.

Starting point Boyd Park, Spur Street, Ritchie Street, Kenrick Street (via Skidmore Reserve), Terminus Street (via Riverside Skate Park/Te Aroha Boat Ramp Reserve)

Dogs This is a wildlife sanctuary so dogs must be on lead at all times. There is a fenced off lead exercise area nearby at the Spur Street end of Boyd Park.
