Short walk

Time: 15 minutes

Distance covered: Approximately 380m from Cobham Drive to Lockerbie Street. Approximately 310m from Lockerbie Street to end (by Fairway Drive and Howie    Street intersection).

Starting point: The walk can be accessed through multiple points along the walkway including: 

• Cobham Drive
• Lockerbie Street
• Fairway Drive

Description: This is a relatively flat, short walk on a gravel pathway along Davies Park. As you walk, you'll pass the protected London plane trees and Davies Park playground, which offers seating and rubbish bins. There is also a cafe nearby. 

Parking: Off street parking available off Fairway Drive, near Davies Park playground. On street parking nearby.

Things to note: Dogs are allowed but on lead, and at least 15m away from play equipment. To keep the trees protected, please stay on the track. If you walk the whole length of the walkway, you will have to cross roads. Please take care while crossing. 

Walking track

Time: 30-75 minutes depending on access point. Please see below. 

Distance covered: 1.5-5.8km depending on access point. Please see below. 

Description: This scenic walkway follows the Waitakaruru Stream and Piako River, passing through significant Totara stands identified in the District Plan. The route offers a rich natural experience, featuring native bush, grazing paddocks, a bridge across the river and opportunities to observe waterfowl and other wildlife. It is suitable for all ages and ideal for family outings. 

Parking: Avenue Road South, Cureton Street, Holmwood Drive. 

On street parking is available at:

• Studholme Street/Eynon Road
• River View Road
• Thames Street

 Important Notes: 

• Holmwood Park may be closed during periods of high river levels. 
• Dogs must be on lead along the walkway. 
• A dog exercise area is located within Holmwood Park where dogs may be off-lead.
• Some sections of the walkway are near the railway and an industrial area which can be noisy at times. 
• Some sections, particularly between Avenue Road and Studholme Street have stairs to climb.
• The Piako Waihou Catchment Trust actively manages pest control and native planting initiatives along the track. Volunteers are welcome - please contact the Trust for more information.

Description: This is a walk that goes around the perimeter of the Recreation Ground. ​

Parking: Off street parking available, off Fairway Drive, near Davies Park community playground. On street parking nearby.​

Things to note: Dogs are allowed but on lead, And at least 15m away from play equipment. There is a dog exercise area available at the polo grounds (when not in use). ​

Park run happens along the perimeter pathway every Saturday at 8am. For more information, head to their website. ​

Short walk

Time: 15 minutes one way from George Street to Coronation Road.

Distance covered: 800m (one way) 

Starting point: George Street or Coronation Road 

There are multiple access points to the walkway:

• Cooper Crescent
• Woodside Close
• Willow Grove

Description: The walkway passes through areas of native bush and follows a stream. Part of the track, accessible from Coronation Road, was donated by Rotary Morrinsville. A Story walk has been installed by the library in collaboration with the Menz Shed. Parking: On street parking is available on George Street or Coronation Street. 

Things to note: Dogs must be kept on a lead. Nearest public toilet is at Davies Park. 

Short Walk 

Time: 10 minutes one way

Distance covered: 570m from Stirling Drive to Golf Course Road. Distances may vary depending on access points. 

Starting point: The walk can be accessed through multiple points:

• Hoylake Place
• Graham Place
• Fairway Drive

Description: A short walk/path through the Parkwood subdivision. The pathway follows the stream for a part of the walk.

Parking: On street parking available on Stirling Drive, Fairway Drive and Golf Course Road. 

Dogs: Allowed but must be on lead.

The mountain bike tracks at Te Miro Outdoor Adventure Park are maintained by the Te Miro Mountain Bike Club.​For track details or enquiries, please visit their website: www.temiromtbclub.co.nz​

Parking is available at the main carpark located on Waterworks Road.​

The native forest remnant at the park is ecologically significant. Please respect this by staying on the formed trails. ​

Please be aware that pest control operations are carried out across the reserve by the Te Miro Pest Control Group. For your safety, stay on the official tracks and pay attention to signage.​

There is a picnic area and a long drop toilet at the main carpark​
