Parts of the Tui Domain Track will be CLOSED from Monday, 3 March 2025, for track repairs. Including the section between Rewi St and Hamilton St, and part of the mountain bike track. We’ll update you once the track reopens.

 

Whakapipi Lookout (Bald Spur) and Te Aroha Mountain Track

The Whakapipi or Bald Spur is a narrow and windy track that takes you a third of the way up the summit track to the Whakapipi look out. From the lookout, visitors can see all of Te Aroha the Waihou river and the Wetlands.

You can continue along the Te Aroha Mountain Track to the summit. The track beyond the Horseman's Track junction to the summit is managed the Department of Conservation. Beyond this junction, the track also becomes more challenging becomes an advanced tramping track. For more information visit their website.

*Please note: the bridge at the Tui Rd end of the Tui Domain Track is currently out after damage from Cyclone Gabriel.
