Matamata Piako District Council

To Whom it may concern,
I am sorry to say this but I feel a little let down by the way the matter has been handled.
At the Morrinsville Market in April Council representatives were present and said we would be getting a package in the mail regarding making submissions to the council on future plans.
Three weeks later when nothing had arrived in the mail I went into the Council Office to be informed that submissions had already closed. The contractor had not delivered the goods, just like the calendars this year. What a waste of rate payers money on two occasions.
I wished to bring two items to Council notice.
1. To ensure the town has continued water supply I suggest every new dwelling being and to be built should have its own 25,000 litre water tank on site to collect rain water from the roof. People in rural areas already do this and have been doing so for years. I lived in a rural area for many years and relied on collected rain water. We were a family and never ran out of water or needed a tanker delivery. With careful thought it is possible.
2. Privet should be declared a noxious pest within town boundaries and eradicated. This year was a particularly bad year for hay fever.
Another thing I would like to bring to your attention is the fact that when I bought my house 7 years ago I had three houses opposite me. With subdivision in recent years when the building has finished I will have 14 - yes 14 new houses. You did not even have the courtesy to advise me. I realise I would not be able to stop " progress" but a concern I would have brought up was the increase in traffic immediately opposite my house and driveway. Also new houses do not have much in the way of parking areas so more cars park on the road.
I sincerely hope you will give these matters some serious consideration.
