Facing the rubbish problem head on
Tell us what you think about Kerbside collections:
Our preferred option – changing kerbside collections from 2023
Any other comments on Kerbside collections:
Our rubbish needs to be collected on a regular basis but I don't like the idea of not using bags. I still use black bags which I paid for in my rates but if we have to use a bin it will be the same charges no matter how often each ratepayer uses their bin.
Tell us what you think about Resource recovery centres:
Our preferred option – establish two resource recovery centres

Have just read in Chronicle that the security cameras need updating' thats fine but any beautification is pointless when a lot of shops don't look after their frontages.
Mountain bike skills and dog park for Te Aroha

Any other comments on Mountain bike skills and dog park for Te Aroha:
Maybe a dog park if one is not already in te Aroha but a bike skills park is a waste of ratepayers money.
Improving walking and cycling connections

Travelling from Matamata to Thames twice in 2 weeks I saw one [underlined] cyclist using the cycleway between Mtm and Te Aroha. Waste of money for small proportion of population.
Dog park in Matamata
Tell us what you think about Dog park in Matamata:
Our preferred option – create a dog park at Swap Park
Any other comments on Dog park in Matamata:
Being a 'top pick' and at no cost, it is a 'no brainer' to go ahead with it. Perhaps Council should consult community more often if it comes up with popular no cost ideas!
What do you think about our proposed limits for rates and debt?
What do you think about our plans for our other projects?

I don't like the proposed rate increases over the next 10 years. I think these increases should be even throughout the 10 years, not with the spikes as in 21/22 23/24 and then zero in 26/27. While I understand the 23/24 increase is to do with rubbish collection I dont agree with a bin for every household at a set charge as it is unfair to those of us who don't have rubbiosh to dispose of every week (as the recycle bins now).
We have a horse, a clock, beautiful wide grass berms + gardens , + hobbit hole Isite all making Broadway quite a pleasant street to drive thru. Pity there are no shops to keep locals in town shopping - we all go to Taupo Rotorua, Tauriko - much more interesting shops.
