Very keen to see/discuss the Abbyfield concept for the housing of the elderly. Abbyfield is a non-profit - trust model for housing older people who are unable to live at home, but are a long way from rest-home life. Premises are 12 - self contained rooms, with communal eating, lounge.
Things we want to investigate/Looking further ahead/Things we're compromising on:
Other comments:
I am new to Matamata so don't know history of the by-pass.
% Matamata wants to have a strong cafe/restaurant culture, serving tourists (local, regional, and maybe one day international), then trucks - huge double axel, rattling through mainstreet spoils the town and makes Matamata unattractive. Is there any research that supports the belief/assertion, that the Waikato expressway will result in less heavy traffic on Broadway.
Have the people in Matamata said they are ok with the heavy traffic going through Matamata?
