Description

The Rail Park Redevelopment project, led by two dedicated neighbours who adopted the railway park between Ema and Burgess Streets, has successfully transformed an overgrown section of the rail trail into a vibrant and stunning park. Partnering with Hauraki Rail Trail and Manukora, they gained permission and support to develop the site, planting numerous flowering trees and shrubs to revitalise the area

Matamata-Piako District Council (MPDC) has played a supportive role by providing plants, promoting the project, and supplying mulch and labour.

Business and neighbouring residents have transformed the rail trail and MPDc have now taken over the mowing

Manukora have committed to give ongoing support to the neighbours that lead the work to transform the park.
