Te Aroha Rotary approached MPDC offering to fully restore the town centres Victorian style bench seats. The seats had begun to deteriorate badly with lichen, broke boards and flaking paint. Rotary took away one bench seat at a time, repainted the steel frames, replace the timber boards and fully restored each one before placing it back in its original position.

MPDC supported creating a safety plan, sponsored the paint, timber and fasteners.

Our town centre is now more beautiful and well maintained thanks to the effort put in by rotary to restore the seat, by supplying materials we have been able to upgrade our town centre for a low cost

The town centre seats have all been restored and now the group have indicated that they would like to restore the seats in the domain, they are seeking support from other community groups and business to secure a suitable space to work on the seats.
