Description

The Hetana Bluebells project, led by Keep Matamata Beautiful, aimed to enhance our local green spaces by planting over 8,000 bluebell bulbs under the Hetana Street Oaks.

MPDC supported promoting activity, supporting with project and horticulture advice and b providing tools, materials and MPDC Staff support.

The community's response has been very positive, with locals eagerly anticipating the burst of colour from the bluebells come spring. This successful planting not only beautifies our town but also boosts local biodiversity

With the Hetana Bluebells project now complete, Keep Matamata Beautiful are now eager to fund and install the installation of two new pathways through the oaks and Bluebells to increase pedestrian use in the space.
