Tui Domain Track
Starting near the Mokena Geyser, this pleasant walk passes through stunning bush and shallow mountain streams. At the Te Aroha Water Treatment Plant walkers may take short detours to scenic waterfalls. The track continues through bush, crossing mountain bike tracks (please watch out for cyclists).
At the junction with the Hamilton Street Track walkers have the option to walk to Hamilton Street (10 min) or continue on a steeper, more challenging track that leads to Tui Road. Some Department of Conservation tracks, including one that leads to the former Tui Mine site, can also be accessed from this section.
*Please note: Track partially closed due to damage from Cyclone Gabriel. The infrastructure has been completely washed out and part of the original track leading to Tutumangao Falls is now impassable. To reach Tutumangao Falls, please continue along Tui Domain Track to the water treatment plant. Turn right onto the tar sealed road and walk up behind the timber tank. The track continues in a semi-circle past the Quarry Falls and around to a short track on the left which will take you up to Tutumangao Falls and a lookout. Time : 15mins approx.
