Excavation for the Swim Zone Matamata leisure pool (the old indoor pool) roof foundations has begun, with the foundations expected to be poured in late August. 

The leisure pool and spa remain closed while the roof construction takes place, but the lane pool is open with the water temperature increased to 30 degrees.

The roof is a medium-term solution that will enable the Matamata community to continue to access an indoor pool and swimming lessons all year round while we take on the longer term challenge of planning for a new or upgraded complex that meets the future needs of the community.
