A Hearing will be held in Te Aroha Council Chambers on 18 October. Applicants will be notified in writing of Council decisions shortly thereafter.

Council administers several grants to support groups and individuals in our community. Grants available include:
This year, Council has set aside $30,000 ($10,000 for each ward) to assist funding community based projects. Applications for the first funding round closed on 1 September 2017, the second funding round will open on Wednesday 14 February, 2018.
We administer the Creative Communities Scheme that provides funding for arts and cultural projects in our district. The money comes from a national arts body, Creative New Zealand.
Funding is available to encourage and assist with the on-going protection and enhancement of the natural environment and cultural heritage in our district.
We have set aside $15,000 to assist non-profit community organisations to fund the costs of resource consent applications. Applications can be made at any time, with a maximum of $5000 to be granted to each community group per project.
We have a ‘Significant Natural Features Fund’ where landowners who have a significant site such as a wetland and/or native bush area can apply for funding towards fencing the site and project costs.
Dr Lawrence and Elsie Mackie Memorial Trust grants are available to people from Te Aroha and the surrounding country areas (Elstow, Manawaru, Mangaiti, Ngarua, Springdale, Te Aroha West, Wairakau, Waihou and Waitoa). This funding is provided for 'charitable purposes', for both groups or individuals.
