The First World War remains one of the most significant events in our history. Each year we pause on 25 April to take some time to remember the brave men and women who have served our country. ANZAC Day is our day to honour all New Zealanders who have served in times of war. And in particular to acknowledge the veterans of wars still living among us. Also we commemorate the anniversary of the landing of Australian and New Zealand troops at Gallipoli, Turkey on 25 April in 1915.
