Lockerbie Park Walkway
This walkway is an ideal walk for the whole family, with the paved pathway making it suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. The path meanders through Lockerbie Park and is lined with specimen trees. The park has a large rolling grass area alongside three gullies extensively planted with trees and shrubs. There is a playground near the George Street end of the walk.
Howard Morrin, the first major European settler in the area (in 1874), brought land from tangata whenua and called it "lockerbie" estate, after the ancestral homeland of his forefather's from Scotland.
