When putting out your kerbside bins, here are a few expert tips:

• Make sure the writing on all bins is facing towards the road.
• Arrange the bins from smallest to largest (e.g. food scraps bin first, and rubbish bin second), from the direction your driver approaches. This will help them to see all of the bins, and not miss anything tucked away.
• Keep your wheelie bins away from the other bins, this will allow the truck arms to reach out and grab them safely. It pays to keep them away from poles, fences, and trees as well – the further the better!
• If you live in an area with multiple houses, food scraps bins and glass bins can be grouped together. These are emptied by hand, so it will speed up the whole process.
