Private Plan Change 58 - Avenue Business Park approved

Council has approved Private Plan Change 58 – Avenue Business Park following an independent commissioners hearing held on 26 February 2024.

The decision is to rezone approximately 14 hectares of rural land to a General Industrial Zone (GIZ) with a supporting Development Area Plan (DAP). The land is located on the western side of Morrinsville, between Avenue Road North and SH26. 

Rezoning of the land from a rural zone to general industrial zone will provide additional industrial land supply in Morrinsville for a range of industrial purposes. As an example, the GIZ zoning will provide for activities such as warehouses, yard-based retail and more. If you have made a submission to the plan change you may have the right to appeal the decision above by lodging an appeal with the Environment Court by 5pm Friday 21 June.
