Peria Road Reserve (Yellow portion excluding memorial plantings and pathway)
We’re looking at turning Peria Road Reserve into a fenced off-leash area. What do you think?

Comments:
A fenced park is a great idea. A small space like this, especially with a tight corner area has the potential to be quite dangerous if there is a big group of dogs tearing about. I think it would be critical to include activities for the dogs and provide places timid dogs could seek safety from pushier ones. I'm certain that there are enough of us in the community who would rally together to provide and maintain these. I see Rotary are keen to be involved. Involving the community will be of enormous benefit in every way. I also suggest seating for people who can't stand for long, but it would need to be placed strategically so they could see and get to their dogs quickly. I also suggest bins for poo bags and a simple water supply e.g. a tap and shallow trough. It would also be useful to have good signage reminding people to clean up behind their dogs and actively supervise them, not just chat with friends and ignore the dogs. The phone number for Dog Control should also be on the sign.
