Full description of idea:

A double chairlift (not a gondola) to enable everyone access from the Domain to Bald Spur with a return possibility of using a zipline rollercoaster, similar to a continuous flying fox ride, with riders suspended in a harness from a pipe attached to trees. This would be something unique to Te Aroha and give activities in Te Aroha a point of difference. This would be a new reason for people to visit and spend time in Te Aroha. This proposal calls for minimal visual impact on Mt Te Aroha. it is envisaged a small chairlift and rollercoaster zipline would be concealed under the existing canopy of trees. Some commercial enterprise input is envisaged, perhaps Council could be the seller of this idea.

How this idea will benefit the community:

Community would benefit by having more visitors to Te Aroha and wider district. They would have an extra specific point of difference reason to visit and spend time in this district. Could lead to supply of extra services to visitors by the existing community.
