Planned water shut downs
Morrinsville Water Treatment Plant maintenance
On Wednesday 3 December from 9am-3pm, we will be shutting down water supply to properties that are supplied by the Morrinsville main water trunk so that we can conduct maintenance at the water treatment plant. Affected properties will receive a letter and you can also check the map below.
Please ensure you make alternative arrangements for essential water supply during the times stated above. We would also ask that all taps in the house are turned off, as the water may be turned back on earlier than advised.
When water supply is restored, we recommend flushing an outside tap for a minute to flush through any air bubbles, which may cause discolouration to the water. If by 3.30pm your water has not been restored, keep a tap on for a few minutes longer until water starts running. If that does not solve the issue, please contact us.
If you have any queries regarding this shutdown, or you or a member of your household depend on water for critical medical support that requires a continuation of water supply please do not hesitate to contact us on 0800 746 467.
We thank you for your patience while we make sure our water network is well maintained.

Water valve testing, ongoing around the district.
We are exercising water valves around the district to ensure they're working properly - this is an important part of maintaining our water network as it helps us identify issues early. This process may dislodge sediment and it's possible some properties may experience "dirty water".
If you notice dirty water, we recommend turning on an outside tap for a few minutes to flush through any sediment or air bubbles, which may cause discolouration to the water. If that does not solve the issue, please contact us 0800 746 467. Thank you for your patience.
