Matamata-Piako District Council has accepted Private Plan Change 62 (PPC-62) for processing.

The application seeks to rezone approximately 20 hectares of land at 194 Tauranga Road (State Highway 24), Matamata, from Rural Zone to General Industrial Zone.

If approved, the proposed plan change would support future industrial development on land located at the eastern entrance to Matamata, opposite the existing industrial area.

The proposal is now open for public feedback.

Submissions open on Tuesday 29 September 2026 and close at 4.30pm on Wednesday 28 October 2026.
