Have your say on the future of the Hauraki Rail Trail

The Hauraki Rail Trail is one of the region's most significant recreation and tourism assets, enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.

Hauraki District Council, Matamata-Piako District Council, and Thames-Coromandel District Council are working together to review the Hauraki Rail Trail and help shape its future direction. As part of this process, TRC Tourism has been engaged to undertake a comprehensive review and community survey.

We are seeking feedback from residents, businesses, community members, and trail users to better understand:

  • How the Trail is currently used
  • The benefits it provides to our communities and visitors
  • Opportunities for improvement
  • Priorities for the Trail's future development

Your feedback will help inform future planning to ensure the Hauraki Rail Trail continues to deliver benefits for our communities and visitors for years to come.

We invite you to take part in the short online survey which you can complete here.

The survey is open until Sunday 26 July.

All responses will remain confidential and will only be used for the purposes of the Hauraki Rail Trail review.

We encourage everyone with an interest in the Trail to have their say.
