Support during COVID-19

We know the COVID-19 lockdown and changing levels can be a worrisome time for many people - but help is there, anytime you need it. You are never alone.

Financial assistance

If you've been affected by the COVID-19 alert level changes, there is financial assistance available for businesses and help for individuals and whānau.

You may be able to get help with:

  • Food costs
  • Accommodation costs
  • Power, gas, heating or water bills
  • Medical and dental costs
  • Wage subsidy

Call 0800 559 009 or visit to find out about the supports available for individuals, families, employers and self-employed people affected by COVID-19. This service is available to everyone, not just those who are currently registered with WINZ.
