Keeping you and your family safe around pools this summer
All swimming pools more than 300mm deep, whether that’s in-ground or above-ground, must have building consent. This ensures the fencing materials and height, structures, gates and surrounds are all meeting the requirements to keep you safe. If a dwelling makes up part of the fence then there are requirements to ensure children are safe around doors and windows.
Information is available to help make pool fencing regulations easy to understand, as well as a handy checklist for pool owners. Find out more about building consents for swimming pools.
