Arts, Culture and Heritage Strategy (794kb)
Council has developed a draft Arts, Culture and Heritage Strategy to help provide the district with a clear direction for the arts sector. This strategy is aimed to compliment the Active and Leisure Strategy. Collectively these two strategies aim to not only identify and support the main arts, cultural and recreational activities in the district, but also identify and enhance the settings and facilities where they occur.
District Tree Strategy (2.3mb)The District Tree Strategy has been developed to assist with the management of trees on Council administered land.
Growth Strategy (1.8mb)
A Growth Strategy has been prepared to deal with growth pressures in the district. This aims to drive the long term development of the district and highlights the need to integrate landuse, infrastructure funding and transportation to maintain and increase the quality of our urban environments for a growing population. Guidelines for signage to allow Council to present a consistent, professional, and recognisable face to the public in our parks and public spaces.
Roading Procurement Strategy (421kb)
Outlines Council’s procurement strategy for roading works as required by the New Zealand Transport Agency’s procurement manual.
Track Strategy (1.6mb)
The Track Strategy sets a strategic direction for walkways and track recreation in the district to ensure that Matamata-Piako provides a walking friendly environment.
Waste Minimisation Strategy (767kb)
The Waste Minimisation Act came into force in 2008; this Act imposes a levy on all waste sent to landfills, this generates funding to help local government, communities and businesses reduce the amount of waste produced. Council is only eligible to apply for this funding once a Waste Minimisation Strategy is in place and we can demonstrate action towards its implementation. Our Waste Minimisation Strategy was adopted 23 June, 2010. |
