Other major attractions in our district include historical landmarks such as Firth Tower, the Mokena Geyser, leisure pools and mineral spas and numerous walks on Mount Te Aroha, 3,126 feet high.

Our Indicators

Indicators help us understand the ‘state’ of our environment, the ‘pressures’ being imposed upon us and the ‘responses’ that society are undertaking.

Matamata-Piako has developed a set of indicators so we can measure what is happening within the district. Where relevant they have been developed to provide consistency with Environment Waikato’s indicators and the Ministry for the Environment’s indicators
